Francine Carraro, Ph.D., is the retired director of the Wichita Falls Museum of Art, having previously served as director of the Grace Museum in Abilene, the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, Maine, and the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming. She holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and served as a tenured professor of art history at Texas State University, San Marcos. She is author of Jerry Bywaters: A Life in Art (1994) and numerous articles and exhibition catalogues. Currently, she is an appraiser specializing in Texas art.
