From time to time in the past, CASETA, has made awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing early Texas art. During the past year, the CASETA Board formalized this process by creating five awards that will recognize both individuals and institutions who have made significant contributions to the advancement and study of early Texas art. The awards created include:
Lifetime Achievement Award - to be presented to an individual (or a group of individuals) who has distinguished himself, herself or themselves with a lifetime involvement with Texas art as an artist, a patron, collector or scholar of early Texas art who.
Distinguished Service Award Within the Organization – to be presented to an individual who has given long-time and distinguished service to CASETA and the promotion of early Texas art through activities such as board service, fundraising, committee work, educational work, or the like.
Distinguished Service Award Outside the Organization – to be presented to an individual who has given long-time and distinguished service in promoting CASETA and the advancement and study of early Texas art through activities in ways other than active participation in the organization.
Publication Award – to be presented to an individual or individuals who have made the most important contribution to the published literature on early Texas art during the previous calendar year. The publication may be in the form of a journal article, an exhibition catalogue, a monograph, or a book. This award also carries a monetary award.
Exhibition Award – to be presented to an institution that has organized and presented the most outstanding exhibition on early Texas art during the previous calendar year.
Research Award – to be presented to an individual or individuals who have completed the most outstanding and original research project related to early Texas art during the

All awards will not necessarily be given each year. Rather they will be presented when there is clear and distinguished achievement in the area identified. We encourage you to nominate individuals for these awards.
